Casual Valentine's

Casual Valentine's in the cutest Jing Limted Helen Turtleneck Sweater.

Valentine's Week is here! I hope you have your outfit picked out. If you''re going somewhere casual like a movie, bowling, chill dinner or night in, a red sweater like this one from Jing Limited, is the perfect option. Pair with blue, black or white denim and some booties and you have yourself a casual Valentines look.

Valentines Day has so many expectations that come along with it, but I can honestly say I've never had a Valentines Day that has lived up to my expectations. Most everyone I know, whether in a relationship or not, are not doing anything special this year... In my opinion, Valentines should be extra and over the top. Everyone's excuse is "I don't need a day to show someone how much I care for them, I care for them and show them all the time" WRONG. More often than not, this statement is wrong. It's nice to have a day to appreciate one another and be together. So I believe in Valentines and being extra. Sorry not sorry. Do you agree?

Perfect Florals & Valentines

Floral Dresses are always a yes for me. Valentine's is almost here and you can wear this (or a similar one) for a more causal date... scroll down for my idea of a perfect Valentine's.

I love any and all things boho. This dress from Miss Me (click for direct link) is the perfect combination of feminine boho, just in time for Valentine's. I love the rose pattern and how it flows perfectly. This dress would be perfect for a casual day date and you can take this into the spring season.

If I could plan out my own fantasy Valentine's date (that's still realistic) this is what it would look like: He would pick me up and we would go to an amazing Italian dinner, possibly a rooftop view, next to a fire pit overlooking the city. Glass or glasses of wine, bread (yes carbs), and pasta (more carbs), and dessert. Sorry not sorry, gotta eat good on holidays... :) Then after dinner, straight to the movies to see 50 Shades Freed. Hey, this is my fantasy date. But I'll also take Disneyland after dinner if the movie seems a bit extreme.

My unrealistic fantasy Valentine's Date includes a v similar plot line as above, except a bit different: He would send a car to bring me to his private plane to then fly to Italy for a real Italian Dinner, then off to Paris for Disneyland Paris, just in time for fireworks. And since were already in Europe we might as well do Greece the next week... amirite? Just dreaming over here.

Don't get me wrong, I love to stay in also. Last year we stayed in and made an amazing dinner and dessert from scratch and watched movies with wine on the couch.

What's your idea of a Valentine's date?

3 Items I Recently Bought

Today I am sharing 3 items that have been on repeat since I purchased, within the last two months. Once I find something I like, I wear it over and over and over again. Not. Kidding. Does anyone else do this, or is it just me....?

The 3 items, (which if you follow me on insta: @emilyemig, you probably already know) are:

1. AmuseSociety white fuzzy turtleneck, also comes in black, click here. I have worn this almost every other day, weather permitting, and I can't get enough. I love how soft it is and I love the fit, oversized but not too large.

2. Vince Camuto Boots- Right now these boots are half off in four colors and they have a lot of sizes left on the website! I get compliments every time I wear them. I have helped multiple people find and buy them on the Nordstrom website in public. They go with everything! AND they don't hurt my feet + I can walk in them all day - true story I wore these boots shopping with my mom for the entire day! Okay.... Now I am going to get the black pair...

3. RayBan Sunnies - I originally bought this exact pair awhile back and thought they were too small for my face and returned them. But recently I got a similar style from a brand I collabed with and I immediately fell in love and wanted the RayBans back. Weird how things can grow on you after some time apart..... Long story short, I went back to Nordstrom and luckily they had the larger circle frames, and just like that they were mine :)

Shop all the items below or click on the underlined text for direct links. Also you can shop all my insta looks with on my homepage. Just click on the picture and all the products are linked :)

What are you obsessing over right now?

Beverly Blue

The cutest elbow cut out sweater, now on sale, a gucci bag and a coffee is all it takes to make me content. Scroll down to find out five random facts about me.

I've seen the "five random facts about me" circling everyones instagram stories, so I wanted to share my facts here:

1. I wanted to be a prima ballerina when I was younger, since I started dance at the age of 3... That is until I knew what a lawyer was. I'm still good at arguing any side. Then I decided to go to school for apparel design and merchandising and here I am.

2. I am obsessed with Bath and Body Works candles and almost always have one burning when I'm home.

3. My most favorite place I have ever been is hands down, Oia, Santorini, Greece.

4. If I like a song, I will play it on repeat until I can't stand it anymore. This is an issue.

5. I could never commit to being 100% fully vegan, because I love in and out burger and my moms meals too much. *Disclaimer* Being vegan multiple times has taught me sooo much about what I put into my body. I do still eat vegan about 80%-90% of the week. I avoid all dairy products, and if I must eat meat, it's usually once when I am out on the weekends, at my parents house or at sushi.

Hopefully you found these interesting, leave me a comment with a random fact about you!!

Happy Weekend Babes!

Flared Out

5a4ef6a6fe9e6e00010ac16c_Tobi5-2 (1).jpg

This post is long overdue. has been on of my go-to online retailers for a few years now, especially for occasion dresses. I finally got to wear some of the casual clothes they offer and I am so obsessed! The flared top found: here, is literally my fav crop. This top has the perfect sleeve and it goes with everything. These pants also offer the best flare, find them here. This outfit has been on repeat since I received. I wear it to brunch, riding bikes down the beach or just hanging out with friends.

One of the photos has Alfred Tea in the background and it's my fav place to get boba. My usual order is the Matcha Boba Milk Tea made with either coconut or almond milk. I think it's like $6 or $7 dollars but you guys it's so worth it. What's your fav Alfred Tea?

2017 was the hardest year of my life. I was challenged in ways that I never thought I would be challenged. Many of the challenges, too personal to share (hopefully this year I will share these challenges with you) but, the one challenge that isn’t too personal is my break-up. Starting in March, breaking up in July and affecting me for many months after, this event consumed my entire year. No one, besides the people closest to me know how hard I took it because I would go about posting all over social media as if I were fine. Even though I was crying every day for months….. And on top of that my ex happened to be my photographer, so my business and blog were on hold until I found another photographer to work with. At the end of the day, everything happens for a reason. With that said, I am SO READY for 2018! Don’t get me wrong, there were plenty of amazing moments in 2017, like my twin nephews being welcomed into the world healthy, and I am forever grateful for those good times in 2017.

PS. No hard feelings towards my ex, he moved to Bali on a whim, and has been traveling ever since.

On to resolutions! I made 14 resolutions, (thinking of another to make it a not so random number) and I wanted to share 3 with you now, then see how the year plays out and share the remaining monthly on my newsletter. (hint hint, subscribe to my newsletter)

1.     Post blog posts every Tuesday & Thursday + Friday Fav, either on the blog or in my newsletter (hint hint again, SUBSCRIBE!)

2.     100% DEBT FREE

3.     Use #2 to plan for my first investment property in 2019

What are some of your resolutions?

Here are some photos from my NYE – fun fact we all grew up in the same hometown and are all killen it in LA!

PS: Yes, I did eat filet mignon on NYE. No, I don't eat meat everyday... I try to eat as vegan as possible but I couldn't pass this up.

Eve Of Christmas Eve

Happy Eve of Christmas Eve! :) Every year my mom hosts Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! So we have a full house two days in a row. Our food tradition since we're Italian is homemade spaghetti and ravioli's on Christmas Eve and roast beef on Christmas Day. We celebrate on Christmas Eve, so tomorrow is food, drinks and presents, and my newest tradition, play with the babies! It's so fun to see the holidays through the eyes of a kid and I am so excited to see my niece and twin nephews tomorrow.

My ultimate Christmas wish is a husky puppy. V unrealistic though since I am never home and would barely have time for a puppy.... but as I get older I am getting closer and closer to actually being ready... HINT HINT MOM AND DAD

I hope everyone has a great Christmas and if you of you get a puppy I wanna see :)

The lovely ladies with me are @leahburbank and @nazyfarnoosh

The amazing photographer is @thefashionfuneral

Chaps Holiday Wear

Happy to be sponsored by Chaps. I love this velvet dress that I got from Chaps holiday collection. It's perfect for all the holiday events I’ll be attending! You can find this velvet dress with the rest of the collection linked in the post.

Like I said earlier in this post, this dress was made with Holiday parties in mind. The paneled velvet dress comes in emerald, black, wine and aubergine, so there's a color for everyone and every event! Pair with black sheer tights, taller boots and a heavy coat if you live in cooler climates... here in California, the bare leg look is totally acceptable in the winter since it's still in the 70s in LA.

This dress is on super sale, and, I have to say it, you earn $10 Kohl's cash when you buy now, to use December 7-19th. I know my mom will appreciate the Kohl's Cash reference, anyone else's mom love the Kohl's Cash?! lol, I used to jokingly make fun of her, but Kohl's actually has the best deals of any store I have ever shopped at! Mom's always know best, I must admit I do love Kohl's <3

Shop dress below, I am loving all of the Chaps and Kohl's Holiday Outfits, stay tuned for a second look coming soon!

Extra At Disney

This is a photo diary of me and Brenna being extra at Disneyland.... No text needed, the photos are pretty self explanatory. Plus I'm sure you're all v aware of how obsessed I am with Disneyland...

Shoutout to Brenna, who is actually the same person as me... She hates sushi (I did until this year), hates avocado and is willing to take blog photos all day at Disney. I am obsessed with her and you should be too. Her IG and blog.

Also if you haven't been to Disney during the holidays, you better go! You won't regret it! <3

Sweater Love

Blogmas Day 2, posted a bit late due to a busy af weekend, featuring my fav wine cocktail and all of my fav sweaters under $25!

This weekend was busy af! I feel like all my weekends until the New Year will be extra extra busy. This weekend I went to Disneyland Saturday and then on Sunday I shot holiday looks for you guys. I am currently on Team No Sleep and I would like to take a ten day nap...anyone else with me? BUT before we all decide to nap let's shop my fav sweaters under $25 all linked below - I've included ruffles, chenille, holiday, turtlenecks, and even a crop option for LA winters, linked below!

My favorite wine cocktail includes: The Naked Grape Pinot Noir, crushed oranges (or any fruit) and rosemary garnish - simple but oh so festive and delicious. I bought the box size of Pinot because it'll last all month! YAS.

Now make yourself a glass of wine and shop these cheap, but amazing, sweaters.

*Thank You Naked Grape for sponsoring this post* PS: Even though this post is sponsored, I do actually drink The Naked Grape Wines, and they are based in the town I grew up in <3

Blogmas Returns

Blogmas has made its return this December! For those of you who are new here, Blogmas is where I post a new blog post everyday of December! First up: Top 5 Fav Things about the Season

My fav things about this time of year areeee:

1. Togetherness. There is nothing I love more than being home surrounded by family. Whether it be with your family, friends, significant other or just whoever you don't mind spending time with - the holidays bring people closer together. Be sure to enjoy the little moments you have with your loved ones, unplug from your phone and social media and be present.

2. Decor. Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, holiday decor is all around you and I LOVE IT. Take a few moments to set up some decor in your home, I have tooo much decor (inherited the over the top decorating gene from my mother), but seeing the decor all around my home really does enhance my mood from within. Be sure to enjoy The Grove or Americana if you're in LA - or any mall/Christmas tree lot/ice rink/major city to feel a little bit extra warm and fuzzy this month.

3. Christmas Music. Haters gonna hate, but if you aren't listening to Christmas music 24/7 starting the day after Thanksgiving I don't think we can be friends....

4. Elf. If you can't quote the entire movie, we also can't be friends....

5. Shopping. Obvi this is one of my favs. Most people dread Christmas shopping but I actually enjoy shopping for others and browsing every single thing in the store. Therapeutic almost. I know, I'm weird. And.... buying myself a gift for every gift I buy for someone else makes Christmas shopping that much better - you should give it a try for yourself, I'm sure you'll start to love Christmas shopping as well.

Does anyone else agree with my favs? Let me know on IG or in the comments below.

Stay tuned for Day 2 tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! There is so much to be thankful for, even after a year like I've had, more on that in my NYE post. Today I'm spending time with family and food, hoping to stick to my vegan-ish diet. On TG, I always wake up and watch the Macy's Day Parade and start cooking with my mom (and wine). Everyone comes to our home to be together and eat, then we watch Elf to kick off the Christmas season.

I'm especially thankful for my amazing and growing family. My mom and dad are amazing beyond words. I'm a proud auntie of a sweet 17 month old girl and boy twins since last Wednesday, Malcom is home and we are hoping Mason will follow quickly after. Thankful for the best girlfriends in my life that impact me on the daily, you know who you are, one is pictured above, Leah Burbank - go check her out! And finally, I am thankful for you all, obviously I couldn't do this without you. So thank you!

I received so many questions on this romper yesterday, outfit details below!

Thank you @roseshire for the gorgeous roses, check them out here.

Thank you Danya for the amazing photography, check her out here.

Shinin' With Boohoo

Sparkly dress season is upon us, and has everything you need to outshine the basics.

How perfect is this LBD from Boohoo? I am obsessed. I love anything and everything sparkly so this dress was basically love at first sight. Rarely do I ever find a long sleeved short dress that fits me perfect in all the right spots, but I hit the jackpot with this one. I also love the sheer panels and the midi turtleneck! Shop this dress here. The best part is the price, regular $66, but on sale for only $33 right now, is offering half off the entire site.

I can totally see this dress being worn for NYE (especially if I go to Vegas) or at any Christmas party/event!

I linked more of my favs below, all currently half off and all under $50!

Fall Floral + Update

Life has been extremely crazy lately, anyone else feel the same? Time for a life update + random thoughts blog post. All outfit pieces linked below. This fall floral top got so much love on my IG when I posted it - included the link, it's on sale for $27!

Life has beeeen crazy lately. Let's dive right into it. As most of you know, I have a "normal" job. I work in real estate and lately we have been insanely busy, I'm working close to 10 hour days... then somehow I manage to get myself to the gym and then I get around to posting on instagram for you guys. I am going to taking advantage of this weekend to organize some content to get back to posting twice a day!

Last month I went vegan for a month, I updated you guys after ten days, and I meant to update you guys before now, but see above. I can't say enough good about my month as a vegan. For me, it was super easy to transition and to stick to it. My meals on a daily basis were as follows: Breakfast: oats/fruit/avo toast. Lunch: Salad or soup. Snack: peanut butter + apple, banana, lots of almonds. Dinner: Veggie stir-fry with rice or quinoa (my stir fry is AMAZING, just saying). I drank al lot of water throughout the day and at night green tea and obvi coffee with soy or almond milk in the morning. I lost overall 12 pounds! My body felt the the transition at the beginning of the month, but by the end of the month I felt so amazing. I did cheat on my vegan diet when I was in Disneyland because it was SO difficult to eat vegan there... but other than that I was pretty strict. Now, 10 days into November, I am still sticking to my plant based diet. I consumed meat last weekend when I was home, but only because I couldn't pass up my moms cooking :) I did find some amazing restaurants that offer vegan menus or just all vegan options, three of my go-to's are: Rosti's in Calabasas, The Harvest Bar in Sherman Oaks and Hugo's in West Hollywood/Sherman Oaks. A vegan diet is so beneficial and it works for me. And YES, I get enough protein. Veggies, beans, avocado + shakes all offer an immense about of protein without having to eat any animals.

Random Thoughts/Updates:

My sister is in labor and I am going to be an Auntie times two!!

Veterans Day is tomorrow, and I have thee up most respect for our Vets. I stand for the national anthem, I thank our soldiers and honor the sacrifice they made to keep my rights and freedoms. My Grandpa fought in WWII and he still tells stories to this day. So to allll the vets out there, thank you.

The holidays are right around the corner and I am so excited, but I wish time would slow down... this year flew by!

Okay life update complete! I'm sure I'm missing a lot but this post is so extra with it's length.

This outfit was shot in Walnut Creek with one of my favorite photographers, Beau Walchek check him out here: His Website or His Instagram. I am obsessed with this floral top and it's only $27!

Hope everyone likes these updates, let me know if you want more...

Hello November

Can you believe it's already November? I can't. This year has flown by... is it too soon to say I am SO READY for 2018...?

Now that it's November, it's finally starting to feel like fall. Last week temps were still in the 100s! But this week, we are keepin' it cool in LA with temps in the 70s, THANK GOD. I have been busting out my fall wardrobe this week and this outfit is a prime example. The hat, sleeved dress, and biker boots are three trends of the season that all work well together. The newsboy cap is under $10 on sale here. The sleeved dress under $30 here. And last but not least, the biker Marc Fisher Boots, I am obsessed with these, here.

Shop all the links below as well.

I am SO excited for this year to be over... this year has tested me in the worst way and I am so ready for a clean slate. With that said, I welcome November with wide open arms. Ready or not Christmas is coming - I mean my Starbucks cup this morning, the day after Halloween, greeted me with holiday cheer.

As we transition into fall, I wanted to incorporate some of my fall staples: faux suede trench and black over the knee boots. I'm also transitioning in a different way as well... I have been Vegan all of October! More on that below...

Dosen't this outfit scream fall?! Now only if the weather would cooperate! I live for coats and boots - so these two are on constant outfit repeat, and no one seems to be mad about it. I actually got both of these items last year but I deff see them being part of my fall/winter wardrobe for years to come. I had so much fun shooting with my favorite photographer, Beau Walcheck. Be sure to check out his work, especially his videos, here: website and IG. Talented is an understatement. Shop the pieces below, all correct and similar links!

Faux Suede Trench, Bebe, Size S | OTK Boots Steve Madden | Dress, Similar Pretty Little Thing | Actual Dress, Leith, Size S (only available in grey, olive, blush) | Quay Sunnies (actual ones worn-rim is olive green, lens yellow) | Michael Kors Bag - they only have gold hardware available (bag is my roommates, Hi Kiana :P )

Now let's chat about my other transition.... becoming a vegan! As many of you know from my IG stories, I decided to become a vegan for the month of October..... Why? I just really want to see what all the "hype" was about. I've only heard amazing feedback from everyone who has tried a vegan or plant-based diet, and I wanted to try it out for myself. I have eliminated all animal products from my diet since October 1st. Which hasn't been that hard... Before I was only really consuming chicken, the occasional red meat, and some dairy when already added into products such as butter, baked goods etc. I am not a huge fan of milk or cheese, so that hasn't been an issue. Instead, I have been eating a ton of veggies, fruits, grains, rice, beans and more veggies.

My menu last week consisted of oats in the morning, banana as a morning snack, soy chorizo chili that I made from scratch (soy chorizo at trader joe's is amazing btw- I ate it before being vegan), almonds as an afternoon snack, and veggies stir-fry with like 15 different types of veggies and brown rice or quinoa for dinner. I also spent my first weekend as a vegan in SF so I'll be posting what I ate when I was there in my next post.

I will be honest though - the first week was a rough, I didn't feel "amazing". My body was almost in shock, because it was accustomed to consuming animal products on the daily, and once those products were removed from my diet, my body needed to adjust. I did, however, lose 6 pounds in one week... although my goal isn't to lose weight. Last week I took the entire week off from the gym because I cut my finger while making my chili :( the weight Ioss was based only on the change in my diet, and I am surprisingly eating more and more often.

Ten days in I actually feel pretty good, I can tell my body is adjusting. I feel more awake, energized and present. It's quite nice actually. More to come next week! Have you guys tried a plant based diet? Are you a vegan? Leave a comment below, or let me know on insta.

I've teamed up with T3Micro to share with you what powers me from within... POSITIVITY

My friends over at T3Micro recently asked me, "What powers you from within?" and without any hesitation my answer was, positivity. I can't think of any situation where the power of positivity can not be applied in order to create a better outcome. I'm a huge believer in the law of attraction, which is: the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life. It's as simple as seeing the good instead of the bad, and essentially attracting positivity into your own life. Now, before you call me crazy, just hear me out.

One of the most meaningful lessons I have learned in my early 20's is that you have one of two options... focus on the bad or focus on the good. I choose to focus on the good. By no means am I saying that by focusing on the good your life will be all roses and rainbows - but, I will say that, by focusing on the good, you are setting yourself up for some major positive energy. If you think you can do something, chances are you can and will.

So, how does positivity power me from within? I personally believe the most powerful part of our being is our mindset. By focusing on the good and creating positive thoughts, we are creating the best version of ourselves. Try waking up everyday for the next week thinking, today is going to be the best day ever and see how that one small thought in the morning can change your entire day and week. You will become empowered from within, and it all began with one small positive thought in the morning.

I recently had to channel some positivity after my first ever real break up. At the time, it seemed as though there was nothing positive to come from the breakup... Eventually, I was able to focus on something positive, which was knowing I deserve better. Seeing the good in awful situations, is often, how I am able to bounce back. Changing my mindset completely changed my outlook, and that my friends is power! (tying in my break up because I got so many questions about it) PS. No negative feelings towards him, we are still really good friends :)

Be sure to check out T3Micro's Power Within page here featuring some of my fav blogger babes and what powers them from within. Also peep the new convertible collection T3 just dropped. These tools are literally what I use to style my hair everyday + their aesthetic is on point!

A few of my favorite quotes about positivity:

"Train your mind to see the good in everything. Positivity is a choice. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts."

“It all begins and ends in your mind. What you give power to has power over you, if you allow it.”

"Virtually nothing is impossible in this world if you just put your mind to it and maintain a positive attitude."

Hope you guys enjoyed this post, Happy Friday! Spread those positive vibes around!

xoxo, E
