Blogmas Day 5: Holiday Cheer

Tis the season to be merry and bright! During the holidays I like and reflect on reason why this is the greatest season of all. I try to focus on being grateful, appreciative and of course festive! I feel as though other people feel the same because, I, more often than at other times of the year, see everyday people being more generous, giving and sometimes even patient! (Which in LA, is especially a virtue!) I just wanted to take a little time to share a couple reasons of why I enjoy the time around the holidays more so than any other time of the year...Feel free to leave a comment below with a reason of why YOU enjoy the holidays!

I love spending time with family and friends. This, is obviously super generic. BUT I really do enjoy the holidays because my entire family is able to spend ample time with one another. Living in LA while the rest of my family lives in Northern California can get annoying when the the simplest of things, such as grabbing coffee with my mom or sisters isn't feasible. I frequently make trips home, but there really is no place like home for the holidays. My mom immaculately decorates our entire house with decorations for every holiday, but her Christmas decorations are perfection. Our family always seems to be so present around the holidays and I am so grateful I have them to go home too.

I also enjoy the festive attitudes from almost everyone you come into contact with. Some may dispute this statement, but 99.9% of people that I come into contact with around the holidays are genuinely in good spirits. I think it may be the vast amounts of decor twinkling throughout the streets and shopping centers, or maybe even the red cups from Starbucks - whatever it is, everyone is in more festive mood! Everyone says, "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays",and the exchanges between people just seem merrier compared to other busy shopping times such as back to school - no one is happy to go back to school, everyone is happy for the holidays!

My final reason is kind of a piggyback of the previous, but I also enjoy everyone's giving attitudes. Besides going out buying an endless amount of gifts for everyone on their lists, I find that around the holidays people are more giving. Giving in the literal sense of giving with no expectation of anything in return. So many donate food, toys, money, clothes etc. I find that, regardless of all the negativity and adversity going on throughout the world, the holidays bring out the absolute best in people.

Tis the season to be merry and bright!

Remember to always spread Christmas cheer by singing loudly for all to hear!

.....who can guess where that is from^?
