Although I currently live in Los Angeles I thought it would be nice to blog about the town I grew up in, Modesto, California. For those of you that aren’t familiar with California’s geography, Modesto is located in the central valley, which is directly in the center of California. When I find the time to visit home I have to squeeze in all my favorite things, most of them being food related! (Home Sweet Home, literally meaning sweet!) Since it was my mom’s birthday her co-worker Heather made her notorious cupcakes, which are literaFlly to die for (still waiting for her to open up her cupcake shop, will let you know when she does!) To celebrate her birthday all of my family got together for a big Italian dinner at Firenze in Oakdale, California. Since I don’t see all of my family that often it was nice to spend time with all of them over a delicious meal! (PS. Check out my little cousin rocking the purses!) Another favorite stop of mine when I’m home is the infamous Mr. T’s Donuts! This local donut shop has been in business for over twenty years and I only remember getting donuts from here as a child.  It’s always so hard to decide what to get because they offer maple bars WITH BACON, cronuts (croissant donuts), and sprinkled donuts, which are all favorites of mine. If you’re ever in the area you HAVE to go, and there’s no excuse because they are open 24 hours! Just across the way from Mr. T’s is David Lee Nails, another one of my favorite places to go when I’m home! I have lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles and I have yet to find a salon like this one. David and his staff are amazing when it comes to manicures, acrylics and pedicures. They are super fast, which is helpful for me because I’m always on the go, and the prices cannot be beat! My matte black stiletto acrylics were only $20 and my pedicure was $15! So I always make sure my nails need to be done when I am home. Those are just a few of the places I like to visit when I’m home, next time I’ll switch it up with some of my other favorites! I’m so thankful I was able to come home and spend time with my mom on her “29th” birthday! The 60 balloons are a joke… Love you Mom and Happy Happy Birthday!
